…has the baddest tattoo ever!
John Robert (JR) Celski is an American short track speed skater who recently placed bronze on the 2010 Winter Olympics. But what made the buzz more louder on JR is his tattoo, recently seen during the Winter Olympics.
Pinoys and Fil-Ams immediately recognized the tattoo as that of the 3 stars and a sun of the Philippine flag. Also inside the tattoo is the Polish coat of arms, featuring a white eagle. The tattoo symbolizes J.R.’s ethnic heritage–his mom is a Filipino while his dad is Polish.
But more than the tattoo. I think what is really amazing about this 19 year old figure skater is his impressive performance at the Olympics, considering the horrific injury he had during the US team try-outs, as reported by CNN.
His amazing determination and his desire to compete and win is really inspiring, considering the lengths he had to go through just to beat the odds or the possibility of not skating ever again. As a Pinoy, this makes me proud of him more.
Of course, having that sexy, bad-ass tattoo doesn’t hurt either.
