Shonen Knife in Manila….
- AWESOME
- COOL
- FUN
- WORTH THE WAIT!
This experience does not deserve too much drivel (I’m saving it for later). Here are the pics. ENJOY it as much as I do….!
The girls really delivered and connected well with the audience. The Japanese community was also well-represented, with people from the foundation and some VIPs as well. Saw an old man lost in his own world, dancing to his heart’s content. The band was a bundle of energy — they really kept the crowd on its feet. Since I had to have dinner, I was unfortunate to be located at the side of the stage when I arrived at the venue. My neighbors were a bunch of losers (more on this later, I have a few rants). Was fun, SO MUCH! Even if my camera’s batt gave up on me right before the concert ended.
For my rants:
1. For the bunch of losers behind us as the concert: stop shouting other bands’ names…that’s rude. Please show that Filipinos have class and breeding, stop acting like losers.
2. For some of the people sitting at the VIP section. You wasted that prime space if you would just yawn and stare at the big screen on your left. The Japanese lolo behind you was DANCING like crazy and yeah–you were just yawning. The concert was friggin’ fun. You could have danced, or screamed or showed any sign of appreciation to the band. THEY WERE F*CKIN’ GREAT! You could have shown any sign of emotion. Yeah, girl who looked stoned and was just cam-whoring with your friend, I am talking about you.
3. Hey dad on the side, great you’re bringing Junior over to his first J-rock concert. But teach your child some manners. Shoving other people is rude. Screaming in front of other people’s faces is ALSO rude. basic manners, dude. He will need it later in life, trust me.
Over-all, I’d like to give my PROFUSE appreciation to Japan Foundation Manila for bringing Shonen Knife here. ARIGATOU GOZAIMASU!

Was there too and yeah, I agree about some of the people inside the VIP area. They should have given their slots to us.
PS
Saw the lolo too! Astig!
Hahaha! The Japanese lolo was the bomb!!!
Am crossing my fingers now for X-Japan, Glay or even L’Arc En Ciel
JAPAN FOUNDATION MANILA: That’s called a HINT
i wish i was there ! my frigging boss wouldnt allow me to go absent that day!
I think I never had as much fun as I did in this concert. I screamed so hard and danced like crazy, the next morning I was literally unable to speak and my muscles were aching all over. Super super fun, more so since I got to be at the moshpit. Too bad, yung mga photographers in front are not able to demonstrate professionalism. They were all over the place, blocking the stage, blocking the view from the audience. Parang, hello! Pati guards di na sila kinayang kontrolin.
yeah! too bad I wasn’t there..It’s shonen knife’s loss..haha
